Rockers Van Halen are back in the studio with great pal David Lee Roth and will release their first studio album in 2011. The group had reunioned in 2008 and many fans expected them to be like last two decades, to follow up the road success with a new record. However,recently guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his drummer brother Alex have revealed they are working on new material. They stated, “Van Halen is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011.”

Irish rockers U2, who netted $130 million from their massive world tour and other deals, are the world’s top-earning musicians, according to Forbes.com.

The group made $10 million in ticket sales on each tour stop and, along with merchandising revenue, hit the top of the list ahead of Australian heavy metal group AC/DC, who earned $114 million from their worldwide tour.
R&B singer Beyonce Knowles came in third with $87 million, three spots above her husband, rapper Jay-Z.

Through the official website (www.linkinpark.com), LINKIN PARK has announced a September 14th release date for their new album A THOUSAND SUNS (Machine Shop Recordings/Warner Bros.).

The album is co-produced by Rick Rubin (U2, Johnny Cash) and Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda, who last joined forces to produce Linkin Park’s 2007 release, Minutes To Midnight. The band also announced that the first single from the new album will be “The Catalyst,” which debuts on radio worldwide on August 2 and will also be featured on the band’s MySpace Music profile (http://www.myspace.com/linkinpark). Prior to the song’s release, the band and MySpace are teaming up for “Linkin Park, Featuring You,” a unique promotion that gives fans a first-of-its-kind opportunity to collaborate with Linkin Park to produce their own song based on some of the tracks from the forthcoming single.
